The Perfect Christmas Tree

Now that Thanks Giving is over our family headed out to Yost, on a quest to find the “perfect” Christmas tree. Our day began with a Grand Slam Breakfast from Denny’s.
We then all loaded in the Tahoe; we were gone about 15 minutes when the first question came, “Are we there yet” soon after Wyatt and Oaklie had a nap. After about an hour drive we arrived to One Mile Canyon. We headed back into the cedars where we started running into all kinds of wildlife; we saw several deer and some rabbits. We started seeing a few pine trees. Steffanie and Oaklie were walking through the trees to see if they could find the perfect tree when the rest of us heard a scream come from Steffanie and Oaklie. We looked up in time to see a rabbit running away from them. Steffanie said that it tried to attack, all I could see was a rabbit running for its life. After what seemed like 4 hrs and 200 trees later, the perfect tree was spotted. After a short photo shoot, the tree was cut down and loaded on the Tahoe.(yes just call us the Griswalds) We were heading home going down One Mile when we ran into a heard of deer eating on the side of the road. We then noticed that there was a pretty nice buck with them. He was a 4x4 with about a 24” spread. We were taking some pictures of him when they started to move. This buck was having a hard time walking, he had a bad limp. He was probably wounded in the deer hunt last Oct. We all had a fun time and came home excited for Christmas.

Halloween 2008

Once upon a time there were 3 Little Pigs and a Big Bad Wolf on Halloween night. The wolf didn’t eat the pigs because he had so much candy to eat. Everyone had fun except pig #3. She had a bad ear and didn’t feel well for Halloween. We started off the night at Sister Zundels home. The kids love to go there for pictures and she gives them lots of treats. We met up with the Wise’s for Trunk or Treating (Thanks Guys) Next it was on to Uncle Codys. We fed Linus and the other animals and then ate Cody’s awesome caramel popcorn and doughnuts. We visited Papa and then went to Nikki’s for soup and fun games with the big FAM, Marti, Mindee their families and Gma Roche. Nikki is the best party host. Thanks Nikki it was SPOOKTACULAR! The wolf and little pigs are now back to their arguing and piggy #3 went to the Dr. and is feeling much better.

THE END

Princess Oaklie

I can't believe our little princess is already 6 months old. Oaklie is such a sweet little girl and is so loved by everyone. Oaklie says mommy and daddy. She rolls all over and is just starting to sit up by herself. She loves to bath and likes to laugh at her big sisters and brother. I think Oaklie is going to be a singer when she grows up. She loves to make noise and it really sounds like she is singing. The day after she turned 6 months old she and I went for a trip to the beauty shop to get our hair done. Aunt Nikki gave Oaklie her first hair cut. She seemed to love hanging out at the shop and getting all dolled up. We Love our Little Oakmeal!!

Deer Hunting Weekend

Deer Hunting Weekend

The day Wyatt had been waiting for finally arrived. Friday afternoon Todd, Wyatt, Nick, and Cooper headed out to Yost to hunt down the big one. They didn’t find him but they had a great time anyway. While the boys were away the girls did play. We went to the Treehouse in Ogden with the Christensen girls, went to dinner and shopping. We’re not sure who had more fun the guys or gals. There are also a few pics of our pre-hunting trip to Cabelas a couple weeks ago. We love hunting season.

We will miss this summer

This blog is way over due. Here are a few pics from fair week, the first day of 2nd grade for Whitnie, first day of kindergarten for Kortnie and the first day of preschool for Wyatt.
The fair was a fun but busy week for us. Both girls and Wyatt were in the horse show. Wyatt won a medal in the lead line. Kortnie got 3rd place in walk trot, and Whit did well in horsemanship and trail. Todd had fun with the posse and managed to not get killed doing the drill. We were so proud of Whitnie doing her presentation ride at the rodeo. She rides so good and was the cutest queen there. Kortnie also looked darling on the trailer as Miss Horsemanship. There are no pics of Jessika and I singing the National Anthem at the rodeo but we did survive. It was an awesome experience that I will never forget. Everyone was excited to start school and I have to say they were the cutest kids there.

My how time flies

Here is our little Oaklie. She is now 5 months old and I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. Everyone loves her so much. The big kids all love to hold her. Oaklie started rolling over the day she turned 4months. She sleeps through the night and has done since she was about 2months old. She is very happy when she wakes up in the mornings. Whitnie is really good at making her laugh and I think both of the big girls are going to make wonderful mothers because they are so good at taking care of her. At Oaklie’s well check she was 4 ½ months and she weighed 13lb 8 oz. she started eating cereal a couple weeks ago and she loves it. The pics of Oaklie and Grandma are at Time Out for Women. Oaklie found her voice about a week before and we spent a lot of time in the hall there because she wanted to talk and sing as loud as the speakers. It was ok because everyone still thought she was so cute. We Love our Little Oaklie more every day and are so glad she is part of our family.

Kortnie has been playing soccer and doing really well. She has made several goals and really likes it. Both girls are in gymnastics and have liked that too. Wyatt loves preschool and I am having fun being one of his teachers. One day we made wizard wands and hats and Wyatt looked like a real wizard. He loved it and he was so cute.

What A 4th Of July

Todd had the week of the 4th off so we took the kids to Lagoon. They had been talking about it for weeks and were so excited. They had lots of fun on the rides. Wyatt wasn’t sure about it at first because I think he’s a little scared of heights, but he got over it fast. Whitnie had enough of the little kid rides after about 2 so her and took off together to find the big kid rides. We loved the Tital Wave hated the Wild Mouse(who likes to feel like they are going to fall off the edge and die) the Spider was fun but she didn’t want to go on any of them twice. I think she was a little scared but I had fun with her. Kortnie loved every ride she went on especially the Rattlesnake Rapids. Oaklie was a little trooper being dragged around all day. She was a good girl and loved getting a break from her carrier to go on the Terror Ride. She liked the lights. It was a hot but fun day.
Thursday the 3rd was the Plymouth baby contest. Of course Oaklie won. She is the cutest baby girl around. Garrison came up and won his group also. They didn’t have anyone in the 2year old group so they gave the prize to Wyatt. He liked the toys.
The fourth of July started out good. We decorated the Rhino for the big Plymouth parade. Todd, Whit, Kort, and Cooper rode in it. Me, Oaklie, and Wyatt rode the baby contest truck. After the parade was the kids rodeo. The kids wanted to ride sheep. Whitnie was too old so she decided to ride a calf which I was not thrilled about but she wanted. Kort went first and rode it a long way. She scored a 70. Wyatt lasted about 2 jumps. He didn’t even cry when he fell off. Todd said his eyes were as big as pie plates. Two down and safe and 1 to go. Well it was Whitnies turn. She rode a ways and went down but not so safely. The calf stepped on her helmet and slid down her cheek and her arm. I wanted to cry when I saw her. The side of her face swelled up instantly. She looked terrible. Todd got her some ice that we kept on and it seemed to help. Her jaw swelled also and she now has a huge scrape and a very bruised face. Poor little thing. She is tough though she still did her presentation ride at the rodeo both Fri. and Sat. and looked beautiful despite her injury. We had fun at the rodeo. Oaklie liked sleeping in the Rhino while the other kids and I watched the rodeo and Todd worked the roping chutes. Oaklie is such a good little girl she was happy at the rodeo. Maybe we will have three rodeo queens. Todd better get a second job. Happy 4th of July.

Golden Spike Queen Contest

">
It was queen contest time again. Both Whitnie and Kortnie did a great job. Whitnie won Queen in the Little Miss group which was a real accomplishment because it was against girls older than her. She had to go up an age group because she won the little group last year. Way to go Whit. Kortnie was just below 2nd Att. But she won the Horsemanship, which is awesome because there were 30 girls in her group. They both worked so hard. We are so proud of them. They are the most beautiful little rodeo Queens ever!
